Simultaneous 5-Axis Milling
Fully utilize your 5-Axis CNC centers
Benefit from the most Tested and Proven 5-axis toolpaths in the industry.
Get instant feedback with Real time Machine Simulation for checking the toolpath while its created, you don’t have to wait until your finished programming to run a simulation and find an error.
After investing in an expensive 4 or 5-axis Simultaneous machine, let SolidCAM’s industry proven and tested 5-axis toolpaths drive your machine. Utilizing the latest method for programming 5-axis toolpaths, full control of the toolpath and gouge protection is given to the user. Toolpaths can be verified inside Machine Simulation directly after being calculated. For common 5-axis routines, SolidCAM provides optimized strategies to quickly get the job done.
Curve following
Curve following strategies allow the definition of a curve to drive the toolpath together with the selected surface(s). The toolpath can either be driven parallel or perpendicular to the curve. Each pass is a true 3D step-over along the surface, to give a accurate scallop regardless of the surface.
Morph between Curves
Provides a beautiful toolpath that seamlessly adapts to both curves. Probably the most popular HSS toolpath, it delivers an aesthetically pleasing toolpath while providing a constant load toolpath.
Advanced Linking
Total freedom to control tool entry and tool exit motion, to remove the need for surface modifications. Toolpaths can be extended or trimmed, gaps and holes can be jumped, and you can choose from 9 different lead-in/lead-out options.
Gouge Checking
Advanced Gouge Checking gives the user control over toolpath protection. There are 4 stages of gouge protections, so can define specific control for the tool and holder separately.
Parallel Cuts
Parallel Cuts strategies allow quick definition, picking only the surfaces and defining the direction (Linear X/Y or Constant-Z). One-Way, Zig-Zag, and Spiral strategies control the toolpath ordering.
Parallel to Surface / Morph between Surfaces
Both are additional strategies similar to above, however they give additional flexibility. By selecting mating surfaces, SolidCAM automatically builds the intersection curves.
Application specific strategies
Swarf milling, Impeller, Port machining, Engraving, Cavity machining, Electrode machining, and Turbine Blade.
Intelligent clearance moves
Retract and move around your part following a user defined cylinder or sphere.
Advanced linking
Robust linking give many options to remove the need for surface modifications. Toolpaths can be extended or trimmed, gaps and holes can jumped, and 9 different leadin/lead outs can be defined.
Tool axis and Tilting
The tool axis and tilting can be controlled by eight main strategies, while each main strategies has several different modes to them. Powerful options include tilting through point, line, and curves or the tool can be driven directly from the surface normals, with individual control over lead-lag and side-tilt angles.
